Today I took pleasure in waking my daughter up for church, watching her sing, witnessing her snuggling her little brother, laughing at dinner, and giggling through a family movie night. (we watched Elf) Today I loved being a group of 6 instead of a group of 5. My heart squeezed in happiness when we all sat down in our regular seats at the dinner table. I took pleasure in digging out a copy of Further Chronicles of Avonlea for her to read in bed, as we share a love of all things Anne. Tomorrow at some point, we will watch White Christmas together, as I know she will appreciate it far more than her brothers. One of her best friends is coming over, and I am already thinking of all the giggling that will go on- I have missed that. I have missed her friends. It is nice to have my girl back for a couple of weeks!
Other things that made me smile today:
*catching the Skipper sneaking Christmas treats out of the freezer in the garage
*listening to my 6 year old insist that the Santa sleigh in the movie Elf was real, because he KNOWS that Santa's sleigh does not have an engine, 'cause his reindeer are magical and they are the ones that pull the sleigh.
*watching Little M eat his Shepherd's Pie and flex after every 3 bites to see if his muscles were growing.
How about you? How are your holidays so far????
ps- send me snow.
