I am absolutely positive there are more than 5, but my bath is waiting and I am not confident in my writing/communication skills, given all the sweets I have been munching...
1) I actually can cook a decent steak dinner...if I start with a decent steak, thanks to my dad and his organic cows...
2) I am capable of keeping a clean bedroom. It is not that hard. Somehow having an actual bed frame made ALL the difference. I have spent some time pondering why. You would think that having the mattresses OFF the floor would give me more room for clutter, but I have discovered the opposite. Because I love the way the room looks now, I WANT to keep on top of the mess.
3) No matter how much I threaten, apple cores will always be forgotten in the back seats of the van to rot.
4) I may not like my daughter living away from home, but God truly does give a measure of peace and grace to those who finally admit that they cannot control the situation that threatens to suffocate them with anxiety, regret, and sadness! I can sit here today with the same situation I sat in 4 months ago and say that God is faithful and He is at WORK in ALL things! Amen. I may still daydream about my own happy endings, but know that God's timing is way better.
5) I read a ton of Francine Rivers this year. My latest favourite is And The Shofar Blew. I had to force myself to be a responsible adult, wife, and mother and to keep my reading time limited to nighttime when my tasks were done! I also discovered the Gresham series by Lawana Blackwell and almost enjoyed those as much as the Mitford series. (don't you just love saying "Lawana"?)
And my life long lesson that I am still learning???
Shut up and pray.

I am so glad you are learning to rest in Him when it comes to your daughter....I know that is a hard one. :)
And when you have some time check out the historical series by Liz Curtis Higgs. She is a Christian writer and they were fantastic! They were similar to Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers.
