Weekend Getaway, Round 2.
So, just take a minute and go back and read this to refresh your memory regarding our failed getaway last year...I cracked myself up reading it again. I'm such a dolt.
I just took advantage of our credit with Family Life and signed us up for Attempt 2, and I am already plotting. The Skipper is probably still off hockey for a while as he cannot play without his whole heart, which means trying to outskate someone for the puck, regardless if the boards are in the way, so hopefully no more pinched discs. Whistler is super ritzy and expensive, and the conference is hosted by a hotel where that is very apparent.
So, now that I had the chance to scope it out last year, I will come more prepared, otherwise known as, Jane will try to not look like so much a hick. We obviously will not be driving up to the valet parking dudes with a Lexus or a BMW-it will either be our diesel truck again, or a dirty mini van that smells like rotten apple cores, so there is not much I can do about appearing sophisticated in that department. Oh heck, I am just not going to pull of sophisticated on any level, but one think I refuse to do is to hand over white plastic grocery bags stuffed with snacks to the luggage guy this time. The price of food there is ri.dic.u.lous, ( bacon cheeseburger for 15.00, small nachos for 17.00)so I am going to bring as much as possible, except for our one date night out. The Skip says that that won't be a problem cause we have lots of coolers. My thoughts on that are that we are not wheeling our big camping cooler into that hotel- you know the kind with drink coolers built into the top?

He couldn't quite understand why that was a problem. sheesh. My plan is to borrow some nice cooler bags from friends. We'll see. I will just be glad if we stay out of the emergency room this time!

Oh I soooo remember that trip!
And I didn't' blame you one bit for being really disappointed. Our first time with the conference got cut short by a Hurricane.
Tell skipper to behave himself....and NO,he can not take a cooler into the hotel.
Ya'll go and have a romantic weekend. Splurge at little....and take all those free things in the bathroom. ;)
