The Swedish Touch
Those of you who have been my blogging buddies for a while know that we have been living in a house that my talented hubby designed and built, which means that it is really cool, but also unfinished, and has remained undecorated in many areas, our bedroom being one of them. We finally decided to just go for it and get some proper furniture. I am happy to report that I have a dresser that I know longer have to wrestle with. IKEA is my friend- we got simple, sturdy furniture there that didn't cost an arm and a leg (savings hint- you can get it items at a discounted rate if you head to their "as is" section near the tills... if you don't mind a scratch or two, it will save you some moola). Anyways, here are some before and afters of part of our bedroom- the bed is my favourite item, as well as the pics on the wall behind. I like a simple, uncluttered, yet relaxed look. There is more to do, but that will come another on another day and another budget!

It looks classy.
I heart Ikea!
That looks great! The picture colors look like they match the bedspread.
You found some great stuff.
I am happy for you-way to go with the bargain finds. Nothing like having a place to come that is comfortable and organized.I think it helps you sleep better. :)
I don't think I have ever been to Ikea....I'll have to see if they have any in our area.
you are my kinda bargain hunter!☺ looks warm & inviting.
I should clarify that we missed out on the bargain finds as we had to take the items that day and did not bring our trailer- when hubby went back the next day, they were gone, but it is good to know to check there in the future...
simply lovely! glad to see you have a proper nest!
Oh, my gosh!
it's CHARMING!!!
I like it! I can totally envision stacks of books next to those night stands...
but that's just me. :-D
