You Are God Alone-Craig and Dean Phillips

I just sent this song to a loved one who is going through a trial- literally, emotionally, mentally. He has not seen his son for several weeks now, as his ex has chosen to operate outside of the law and decency. Rather than focus on the injustice of the whole situation, we are praying for God to move in a mighty way and to bring healing and justice. The words to this song have been coming to ming everytime I have been feeling overwhelmed and negative.

I know that in these times, there are many trials that we all face, whether they come in the form of relationships, finances, etc. Isn't it a comfort to know that we are not alone? That God is our refuge and our strength?!! We can look UP instead of in or around, and know that He is unchanging and unshakeable, AND that He cares deeply for each one of us.

1 God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.
Selah
4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
5 God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
7 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Selah
8 Come and see the works of the LORD, the desolations he has brought on the earth.
9 He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
he burns the shields [b] with fire.
10 "Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."
11 The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Selah

AMEN!

Such a great song for a time such as that. This song was being played a lot by our praise band at FT Polk, Louisiana, when Hurricanes Katrina and Rita were passing through town, and my husband also passed away a few months later. So, this song has a very special, significant place in my heart.

Just considering the incomprehensible vastness of God makes huge burdens pale in comparison sometimes.

I do love this song....and this group has such a heart for God.
He is God and He is in control...I can rest in that no matter what my life looks like.
Sorry for the rough things that are going on with this family member.
