If you are feeling low about yourself, I will let you borrow my mom, gramma, and great aunt. They came to tea today. Apparently, I am beautiful, my kids are wonderful and play the piano beautifully, my home is lovely, my scones are the lightest and fluffiest they have ever had, my tea is perfect, my hubby is extremely talented at his work, and I am accomplished at many things. Aaaah, even though I know they are biased, it still tickles me. They love my friends and will tell them marvelous things too, so let me know when to send them over!

A friend of mine was telling me the other day that her MIL was coming to visit. I asked her if this was good or bad, and she said good.

I asked her what makes it so easy to be around her MIL and after she thought a minute she told me this...

Her MIL is always positive and complementary. She said her MIL could find many negative things to say about how her grandkids are being raised or how my friend keeps the house or whatever, but instead she chooses to only say the positive, and NOT say the negative.

I am determined to be that kind of MIL!

We need more people like that your family in the world, don't ya think? And could you send them on over? :o)

Did you bring out the duct tape sculptures? They are pretty spectacular.
It sounds like a nice visit. We all need positive loving people in our lives. Note to self: be a positive loving person!

I've always wondered -- do Canadians do tea in the afternoon like Brits??

Hey GGG, no we don't have a traditional tea time. There are some places, like the fancy Fairmont Hotel chains, that have high tea. We started doing it once in a while when my daughter was studying Victorian times in homeschool. The older people in our family absolutely love it- sometimes we dress up and everyone wears old hats.
