Reveal Number One: "The Green Room"

You may remember me mentioning how we redid the two oldest's bedrooms while they were away. Here are the results. Keep in mind that the before pics show the rooms AFTER they had already been grunged out. They were much messier and cluttered before. Here are some pics from our K's bedroom- our nine year old son.

This was the playroom until a couple of months ago, when he moved in. It was pretty dinged up and had lots of pencil marks, etc. Notice the lack of trim and curtains.
BEFORE

AFTER
Ta da! Ignore the big black cord for The Skipper's air nailer. K requested a hockey theme. The shape of his room works well for two single beds, so one will be a sleep over bed. I managed to find 2 sports bedding sets for 24. 99 each- sham, bed spread, and bed skirt. I also found a a hockey sheet set at Walmart as well. You may have noticed the lack of actual beds- hubby is building those as he couldn't bring himself to fork out the dough on something he can build for much less. We did buy new mattresses for the two oldest- let's just say it was time- they were hand me downs in the first place, plus they had had a couple of potty training children on them in the past... You can't see it in the before picture, but there was just a bare light bulb up before.

BEFORE

AFTER

The TV is for an x box that he had given to him. There will be shelves in there to put it on.

It was hard to find inexpensive hockey decor- as places like Walmart are American, and you guys aren't as big on your hockey as us. So, my friend and I found a plain bulletin board, some hockey poker chips, and hockey tape, and I made this for his wall.

Ya'll did a great job.....the paint really makes the room.
The whole bed thing sounds like us...all except Keith making the beds...well, maybe he would have resorted to some type of masonry bed. He is not really into wood work.
That is my Dad....he made Michael a set of shelves that looks like a big boat since Michael is so into fishing.
Great job girl!
How is your visit going?

What you commented on my blog is funny because what they sell around here are Canadian night crawlers. Big fat juicy worms that the fish enjoy very much. I have been questioning whether or not there is a difference between the Canadian ones and the American ones - you know, like bacon, and if so, can the fish tell and which do they like more? So far I just don't know.
