I saw my daughter eating snack while reading one of our big encyclopedias, so I said " Could you please not eat over our good book?" Our 5 year old spun around to see what I was talking about and protested "MOM!
That's not our good book! Our Good Book is the Holy Bible!!!" He's got it figured out, no arguments here!

That was great!
See--you are doing something right. ;)
Yeah, what Sharon said!
Plus, we have had many "science experiments" growing in our fridge.
I am in your boat with ya, sister, so at least you'll have company. :)
bahahahahaha!
good stuff!!!
That is so cute!
And a comment about your comment -
All perspectives are welcome on my blog. You were not the comment I was speaking of, and your words were thoughtful and courteous.
I appreciated them.
Please don't think that post was directed at you - and don't change a thing - I love the "conversation" blogs bring about.
I was talking about something totally separate. :)
out of the mouth of babes! cutie patootie!
That is precious - smart boy.
there are certain kids in my home that if they would only pick up a book, I would gladly let them eat over it. I'm getting quite desperate.
Smart kid!
I have to say, though, I have cringed a time or two, when I see a kid eating while reading a brand new book. Or worse, when I see said brand new book in the book drawer in the bathroom. But it's just a book and I'd rather them read it - I didn't buy it to sit on the shelf, right?
Kate
Awesome, I'm glad you recorded this moment! "The Good Book!" I don't think my kids even know of that reference to the Bible - hmmm, I'll have to share this with them.
