I am blogging out of necessity right now. It is just me and the littles home- Hubby, who I think I will call the Skipper (he is a commercial fisherman/builder, and Skipper sounds a lot better than Bob the Builder), is working. (BTW, my skipper is way hotter than Gilligan's), and the two oldest are visiting their father.

Anyhoo, this seems a very cliche January thing to talk about, but today, I am only drinking a juice cocktail in order to detox some of the sugar out of my body. The excema on my hands has been so bad that it hurts to bend my fingers, and I have been feeling tired and draggy. This is no mystery as I enjoyed many Nanaimo Bars (my favorite!), yummy dips, chocolates, etc, over the holidays. I am blogging to distract myself from taking a big coil of garlic sausage out of the fridge, and eating it with handfuls of chocolate chips! I read this about my liver cleansing concoction in a magazine and figured I could handle ONE day. This confirms it- I am an EATER, not a sipper! I am a food girl. I am also a wimp, I know. One day, big deal. See, if I whine here, it will help me, so bear with me please. I have to say, that my cocktail isn't too bad- pure cranberry juice, lemon juice, water, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a bit of stevia (a natural sweetener). I have had much worse drinks- sludgy, green vitamin drinks, veggie juice, rye and coke, for that matter! (blech!) Doing this does make me realize that I do eat a lot of extra food out of habit, and lots of times for enjoyment. My body doesn't need the amount I put into it some days. I am definitely going to try to be more aware of this again. So, I was thinking, that you lucky girls are due for some new pics of my jean war! For those of you who remember, I have been attempting to fit my old Levi's for a while now. I am not even aiming to fit them well- just getting the zipper to meet would be huge! Perhaps I will post an picture update later.

I'm back, I decided to do it now as one little is sleeping and the other is snuggled in front of Pooh Bear.

Let's take a trip down memory lane together, as we measure the distances between my button and button hole, shall we?

This is my first post about the issue. You will notice that I did not quite reach my goal by the end of last May!

Next, we have an update taken 2 weeks after.

I think this might be the last time I did an update. At the end of the summer, I joined an exercies boot camp and thought that would do the trick- I am stronger and can run faster/longer, but still not in the shape I could be in. I am not overweight or anything, just packing 20 extra pounds around, more cellulite, etc. I can do better. Now I am not doing boot camp anymore as it has closed, but I am going to the rec center 3 times a week, and soon soccer will start again. This brings me back to my cleanse, because I am getting lots of physical activity- it is how much I eat that seems to be my down fall.

To make things really scientific, I measured, and the button and hole are now 6 inches apart. So here is to another try- even if I don't get fabulous results, it will provide some entertainment! (this time I'm feeling pretty fiesty about actually accomplishing something though!)

Or you could just give up like me.

I spent yesterday going through ALL my clothes. If it does not fit I got rid of it! (hay that rhymes)

So now I have nothing left in my closet that makes me feel guilty, those old levies are GONE.

Of course all I have left is sweats, and a few scarves.

Perhaps I need to go shopping...

:o)

I'm an eater too. I find it so hard to eat light- I get hungry!!! Maybe we should not be having the chocolate fondue tonight...

I think you look great! Those Levi's are too dang small. What size are they? A zero? Nanaimo Bars are my favorite too... mint ones! You evil Canadians, sharing your amazing snacks with the fat Americans! -Kidding.

Thanks for stopping by my blog (even though I've been too busy to write anything in awhile). Actually, I was thinking about you today too, wondering if your kiddos were in school yet. Mine start tomorrow! We are all excited here. I had a bit of nervousness creep up last week, but I'm over it. Ask me again tomorrow as I drive away from the school. That's going to be the hard part. My husband took the day off for emotional support (for me... not the kids, they'll be fine).
I hope to post about our experience soon(maybe Friday?). I'll be looking forward to your first day post too! Oh, and you can always e-mail me! Love ya!!! ~Karlie

Thanks ladies- I really wasn't fishing for compliments. This post has been bugging me ever since I did it- seems kinda shallow. It was meant in fun because I got a kick out of trying on those pants- so did the Skipper when I tried to walk in them! they are not a size 0- I think they are a 3O waist-but they are the men's 501's so they fit differently anyways. Just a silly goal I set once upon a time- we'll see. I ain't giving up Nanaimo Bars- they have to be home made though!

Well I was in on the beginning jean post so this is just an update for me.
And besides-I am kind of used to shallow posts ;)-----just kidding girl. Had to poke you on that one since you have joked about it before.

I am doing a little fasting myself. I actually threw away a gallon size bay of chocolate Christmas candy. I knew where it would be going if I did not.
I figure a little fasting would be good for my body and spirit.
Got to get back on tract.
Need to get back to drinking water again.
Your box was put in the mail yesterday by my hubby.
BTW--Not many people know what BC means. That is the second time we got asked about it at the post office. What does that say about us?
BTW2--hubby did not know what was in the box and told them it was books. :)
Good thing I included a little extra. :)
