Big Changes
I have little knots in my stomach even writing this post. I like to please people, which guess I means that basically, I want people to like me. This can be good... and bad. Sometimes I allow it to interfere with my walk with God. I can let my people pleasing voice drown out God's still, small one within my soul. I have been getting whispers again over the last few weeks about whether to continue homeschooling our oldest two. I haven't said much to anyone, I just wanted J and I to pray about it. We finally reached the decision to put them back in school in January, and as soon as I talked to the principal, I experienced a lot of peace. I have a lot of reasons why this could be a positive experience, and I also have a lot of things I could get worried about. If God is truly leading us this way, I know that I need not be anxious for nothing, but that He will grant me peace if I bring Him my petitions and requests.

Thanks for stopping by my blog!
I am a people pleaser, too! I believe God gave me the gift of caring what others think- and it's only when I let S2 (satan and self) get in the way that it becomes a fault- like when it makes me do things other than what I know I should do. I wish you much success in your "big change"... I can't wait to hear how it goes for you!
Hi Jane -
I understand completely - you can't homeschool FOR someone else. It has to be that intimate communication between you and Father about what is best for your family.
Don't let anyone else stand between that - and if they try - put on your "get behind me satan" attitude!!!
Best wishes - thankful for your peace.
Julie
We need wonderful, well loved, Christian children in schools, too!
From one people pleaser to another -
You can never go wrong listening to the God's direction, and sometimes you just know that is what it is.
Enjoy your holidays and then enjoy what will be a new adventure for a time (remember, nothing has to be (or is) forever)
I'm glad you felt some peace. I pray you continue to feel it and that you and your kids have a wonderful experience!
But, you do know...you'll have to get your kids to school really early and dressed and with shoes on both feet?
See, this is what keeps me from public school. I think it is easier to homeschool than find 4 pairs of matching shoes before 7 am.
Hehehehe!
Blessings on you and your family!
I remember when I first posted about our decision to transition to public school, I was sick to my stomach. I so want people's approval. I understand!
God directed our path, and He has blessed our obedience beyond anything I could have imagined. The girls have thrived and we've met amazing people that we would have missed out on. There are things I miss about homeschooling my girls, and I've definitely gone through a mourning process, but it has been an incredible experience. I know that God might call us to bring them back home someday as well... I pray that I will be willing to HEAR and HEED His voice no matter what He says.
Your obedience to Him will be rewarded. You only answer to Him, not to anyone else.
Keep me up to date!!!
Thanks for stopping by and your sweet comment! It's hard to believe the princess phase will ever pass... I look forward to something NOT pastel!
I understand. JUST TODAY my heart was first stirred towards sending my oldest to P.school. ...in order to benefit my second daughter and give her a chance to get out from underneath the older's "shadow". make sense?
The heart of homeschooling is to do what's best for our children. When that is no longer accomplished, it's time to rethink.
Good for you for loving your children enough to listen to God's direction for them. Not what always makes "sense". xo
I understand what you mean about pleasing people. I so badly didn't want to let down the "homeschooling movement" when I choose to put my kids in school, BUT I answer to God, and God alone. When we first decided to put the kids in ps, I wasn't at peace (too many other voices in my head), but as time goes on I feel better and better about it. Now I am EXCITED!
BTW, your comment on my post about healing was AWESOME! I love your opinionated stance... and I just might end up agreeing with you! ~K
Jane, I've been working to the bone and barely have a chance to blog til after the holidays, but wanted to pop over and say hello!
Now, there's the whole non-homeschooling population, very much the majority, that will be very happy with your decision, so just think of all those people you'll be pleasing and you won't feel a bit bad. :-) Heehee, honestly, I'm glad you're coming to a decision, this obviously has weighed on you for some time now. Your children are in God's hands, that's the bottom line, and that's very comforting.
Many Christmas blessings to you!

I am a huge believer in doing what's right for your family. What's good for one might not be the best answer for another. May God continue to bless your family!
