Here is a reason to not blog while children are unsupervised: I just went downstairs to find the family room rearranged. Mr. J moved everything but the couch across the room, which he proudly announced when I remarked on how busy he had been. He then asked if I would take a picture.

We are having a mellow day today- it is a rainy and gray. Since A and K are away with their dad till tomorrow, I was going to clean instead of teach. So far I haven't got much done except to scrub the beige carpet downstairs as I left little M diaperless because he has a rash. Mr J came running upstairs gasping and very excitedly calling out that his little brother pooed on the carpet. As he guided me downstairs to see where the "incident" took place, he announced that if I stood at the top of the stairs I could "smell it ALREADY!". It was not pretty...

i'm also nominating you for the thinking blog award. i haven't posted yet (still trying to figure out how to get the little button to show up.. technology challenged), but just wanted to let you know. i really love coming here everyday.
It all went that well? Awesome. I will fill you in on the very exciting details of our day. Very big day for Macy!
ANd hey, you're a thinking blogger now, you're a big deal.
Hi there,
Your Science Centre looks great. We've got one here but haven't been for awhile. About time for another visit. And we've got a similar beige carpet and had similar "poo-on-the-carpet" incidents. Not the simplest clean-up job but all in a day's work.
Hope you have a great week,
Paula
How funny--no not about the ex being a big kid--about how kids want to make sure you get the full effect. Kid of like when Julia has to make sure that I am aware that our old dog has polluted the air and how bad it is. Although, I have to admit sometimes it is nice to have a warning so i can put my shirt over my nose. You know you just have to be patient with the older ones. Sometimes I could use some smelling salts. :)
Very positive and kind indeed- sounds like you're handling the situation admirably for having to deal with a parent who has chosen to not attend his child's events for four years.
