My thanks to Fatty as she has bestowed a Thinking Blogger award on me. Now I can sit up straighter and inform people that I am a thinker when they question my ability to properly homeschool my children. Maybe I will transfer the award onto a badge that I can hold up in critics faces!
In turn, I am to nominate 5 bloggers that make me think. At first I thought that it would be a challenge as this award has been passed around a fair bit in my circle here, but I came to realize that it wasn't that hard. Here are my nominees:
1. Jennifer @ Diary of 1 was one of the first blogs I read after joining the blogging world because we have a lot in common. We both have are Christians, have 4 kids, and homeschool. She is brainier (that is a good thing Jennifer) than me,and I like that as it challenges me think deeper about issues. I was inspired by these thoughts about training parents.
2. Sharon @ Sit With Me a While. I think I found her blog through clicking on The Christian Women Online random button. First, I was attracted to her peaceful sounding title, then I was encouraged and challenged by the musings about her walk with God, her requests for prayer for loved ones, and her amusing stories. She wrote a really funny one about her dog yesterday.
3. Tricia @ Homeschooling on the Hilltop has 4 children and homeschools as well. She is insightful, down to earth, and willing to make fun of herself(I like that). She shares her thoughts on a variety of things, such as recipes, education, family, etc. I appreciated this post on her teenage son.
4. Monkey Giggles inspires me to be more fun and to "giggle" more with my kids. I haven't been reading her blog for as long as the first 3 on my list, but I bookmarked her site when I found it as it was an uplifting and cheerful spot to come to. I found this on there this morning- very cute!
5. Sprouting Wings. Now, I found this blog of Beth's back when my friend Coffee Mom started blogging. I found this entry about her father, and her honesty and ability to express that relationship blew me away. I haven't read her blog too much, but bookmarked that post and have reread it from time to time. Now that I am blogging, I plan to visit her more. Funnily enough, she has 4 kids as well!
Now, for those of you nominated, here are some rules(don't worry, there aren't very many!):
1. If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think,
2. Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme,
3. Optional: Proudly display the 'Thinking Blogger Award' with a link to the post that you wrote. (I will figure this out soon...Kathleeeeen!)

We always knew you were a thinker, we just never know what it is you're thinking about!
Thanks, Jane for the tag! I'm honored, and I have to say that my foray into the blogging world has made me "think" more than I have in a long time. I'm so thankful for the "thinking" bloggers out there with whom I connect. Now there's more than just the *one* person in my town that I can really identify with and relate to.
Next time I'm in B.C. (dang it, I was just in Victoria last summer and didn't yet know about you) we'll have to grab a cup of tea, or coffee, along with your neighbor Kathleen!

Thank you for the tag...I too am honored. I am a newbie at this blog thing and am having fun. I have truly enjoyed reading so many inspiring blogs. My kids have just loved putting in their 2 cents. (I love it too). I will tag my 5 tonight. I must get outside while the sun is shining. Thanks again and blessing to ya.
Well, that was certainly very sweet of you to give me an award. Thank you for mentioning my other thoughts, I would hate for others to think I won just because my dog is old and has a "pressure problem" and that I just had to write about. ;) You are very sweet--thanks again! Sometimes it is good to laugh.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your porch! Can I come & share a cup of tea with you? :) D
