I love my neighbourhood, a family filled, green, friendly, ocean side place. And now I love it even more, because nobody stole our boy's bike! (see last post) Someone put it inside the school before it was locked up last Friday. How many people can say that they left an expensive bike unlocked, outside for 48 hours without it being taken? Wahoo, praise the Lord! I was quick to point out to K that God was looking out for him on this one! Don't you love it when your kids so clearly see that God answers the desire of their hearts?
Something else that brightened my day- I went to my Dinner Diva meeting tonight and came home with a big cooler full of meals: Butter Chicken, Crispy Cream Chicken, Chicken Cordon Bleu, Hamburger Soup, Chicken Divan, Spaghetti Sauce, Lasagna, Pulled Pork, Meatloaf, Beef Dip, etc. I LOVE stacking my beautiful containers of ready to cook food on my freezer shelves- makes me one happy housewife! Totally worth the stinging eyes I had today from all my onion chopping for my soup contribution! If you don't have a dinner group going, get on it- it is not hard to organize.
And, since we are talking about food right now, I will mention that I whipped up this totally yummy banana cake today. I don't know if it was my awesome Kitchen Aid that made it extra light and fluffy, but my diva gals couldn't believe that it was from scratch. Of course, in my opinion, cardboard tastes good if you put cream cheese icing on it- ok, I've never actually tried that. Anyways, I totally recommend it! Easy beasy. The cooking of it is a little different, and I had to fiddle with it and cook it at a higher temp, for a longer time at the end of the time they recommended. Note that you stick it in the freezer right out of the oven- weird, huh? The end result was divine! mmmm, mmmmm!

Easy beasy.... cute! And I absolutely love that writing in the sand!
aww, i heart happy endings! that dinner diva idea is awesome. i love the *make a bunch of meals all at once* idea but haven't found motivation to do it on my own. bet if i had a bunch of girlies to gab with would help!
The bike story just touched my heart...how sweet. God is so good...the way He teaches is perfect.
And how cool about your dinner group...I would love to do that. How great to get meals from other people...and only to have to cook one yourself. That would be neat.
just getting caught up! because I knew first that the bike was found, my husband and I cracked up at the forgetting the bike and forgetting the signs. why the laughter?
cause that is SO our son as a preteen.
and as a teen.
though he's getting better ;)
