A Little Nod From God

There are some issues in my life that I pray about frequently, seeking God's answers and asking Him to work in those situations. Sometimes I see those answers to prayer, and sometimes, I still wait...

Then there are those times when I feel like God gives me a little pat on the head that affirms that I am going in the right direction, even if I haven't been struggling over that particular decision.

This guy is easy to home school.

He is keen kindergartner, and he makes me look like a great homeschooling mama, 'cause he is reading, writing, and cruising along in math.

He is a sponge that is eager to absorb everything. We enroll with a Christian school through their distance learning program in order to get some funding, and a few months ago, we received a notice that re enrollment was open. Though we felt that we would probably home school him again, we didn't rush, as we think it is best to pray and reassess every year. Yesterday, I started piecing some curriculum together, and was looking at this cool, easy, Canadian unit study. We used Book 2 this year. Each unit is built around Canadian picture books, so unless one wants to spend a lot of money buying them, it requires checking them out from the library. This year I found that there were some books out of print that I was unable to borrow, so yesterday I checked through the list of picture books required for Book 1, which would be his main curriculum for next year. Out of a bunch of books, only 2 were not available at our town's library. One of them was called The Moccasin Goalie by William Brownridge. I had never heard of it before, but made a note that I would need to buy it if we went ahead with homeschooling, and then I proceeded to do other chores around the house. Later I went outside to check on the littles, and found J at the fence talking to the lovely couple who live behind us. They called my name and as I walked towards them, the wife said "I am just giving this book to J, is that ok?" and her husband added, "It's called The Moccasin Goalie".

I was pretty excited. Thanks God!

I re enrolled J today.
