Mixed Tape Tuesday?

I love me some good tunes and have been looking forward to the next episode of mixed tape Monday over at Sara's. Alas, my computer was in the shop till this evening, so I have been limited on hubby's laptop...I don't have my passwords to put music on my play list and something is not going right between this laptop and You tube. That means that you will have to wait for my trip down memory lane, all the way back to those nerve wracking dances in the sweaty, loud gym. Actually, when I think of songs that really made me kick it up, I think of times with my girlfriends, dancing around in a group and being silly. Those are fun memories for me. Anyways, I have one of my faves to post as soon as I have sound to check if the lyrics were naughty or not, and as soon as I am back on my regular computer so I can actually do so.

In the meantime, I should make this post about SOMETHING...

For the first time in my memory, I went to bed with NO snow and woke up with almost a FOOT. That just doesn't happen in this Pacific rain forest area. I have been so snow starved for so many years, that I can't complain about it. I love getting these dumps as I know they won't last long and I don't know when it will happen again. So, today was spent playing in the snow, doing housework, going for a walk, making hot chocolate, listening to the kids bicker, etc. At dinner tonight we were listening to more bickering, so I said that everyone needed to go around the table and compliment each person. It went better than last time. It took a while, but everyone managed to say something pleasant. J, the 6 year old took the longest. At one point, his compliment to his 9 year old brother was that his "hair looked redundant. I couldn't help laughing out loud at that one. I think we need to do this more regularly so that it becomes a habit within our family.

I went out with group of girls from church tonight. We were celebrating one of them turning 30- little spring chicken, that she is! It was a good time, with lots of laughs and yummy food. One of them mentioned how much her kids love watching their home movies. That is an INSTANT guilt button for me, as we hardly have any movies of the kids. I immediately feel horrible as I think of all the viewing my kids miss out on and of all the little things we will forget because we do not have it on tape. Even writing that makes me feel ill. My hubby just doesn't really take pictures, and I can never get the darn thing to work right. The battery is always dead, or something. I dunno, I lie in bed at night and think, "tomorrow I will get it out..." Heck, I am going to go dig it out right now so that I actually film something tomorrow!

Well, not my most exciting post, but it is now 11:30 and time for my much needed beauty sleep.

nite.

i sure laughed at your comment on having to check the lyrics. oh my! i sure know what you mean on that one.

you're happy about the snow and i was out there shaking my finger at the pitiful *SMALL* flakes coming down yesterday telling them they better just blow over and let my daffodils be.

funny too, i was just talking to my D last night about a moment we have caught on a video tape of when he was little & was jivin' to the veggie tales song. my guilt? all the tapes of my firstborn and the LACK of them of AJ. pitiful. so i figure there's always gonna be some sorta guilt. do what ya can. because i surely think what you're doing around that sweet dinner table is a lot more important that looking at it through a lens!
