It was my turn to teach the 3, 4, and 5 year
olds today. I shared the story of the rich man who came to Jesus and was instructed to give away his wealth. Before I told the story, I brought out a big box of cereal that I pretended I wanted to eat, all by myself. Instead, I decided to SHARE my BIG box of cereal with them, and exclaimed how much better it tasted when I SHARED. I asked "What do you think Jesus wants you to do with all the things you have, because we all have lots and lots of stuff, don't we!" A very bright, precocious 5 year old shot up her hand and when called upon, proudly and confidently exclaimed:
"Have a yard sale!"
Oh gosh, it was so hard not to laugh out loud right then and there.
