Time for an Overhaul.

I am here. I don't think I was abducted by aliens or anything, though sometimes I wonder why I wake up feeling so unrested! It has just been a bit of a strange busy week- nothing horrible, just the adults 'round here are feeling kinda worn out. The Skipper hit the boards playing hockey on Monday night, dislocated his shoulder and threw out his pelvis. Funnily enough, it is not his shoulder that has kept him off work all week, but the fact that his sciatic nerve is in spasms. It is super painful and not much seems to be helping at this point, BUT it has been kinda nice to have him kneeling at my feet so much. Ok, he is actually on all fours rocking to help with the pain, but let me have my fantasy.

I am really looking forward to a weekend away with The Skipper later this month at a Family Life Conference. It has been TOO long since we got some real time to ourselves. I just hope he will be back on two feet before then, as I don't want to have him cramping my style by crawling into our upscale hotel! Just kidding- I wouldn't be like that. If he is not better, I will take some other husband. Still kidding. This is a post with no real point- can you tell?

So, this is kind of a posh place we are headed off to. Have you ever had the experience of looking at your appearance and going "good grief, how did I let things get this bad???" I did just this week. My "good jeans" are about 2 years old, and have a bleach spot on them. My nice cords are pinned shut with a safety pin, and my yoga pants have a pink stain on the bum. I have been wearing hats all week and my hair looks kinda sad. This isn't a pity post though. My point is that I am going to go shopping next week, I have upped my water intake and downed my sugar intake to feel better, AND I might get really crazy and go get my hair trimmed! I even think I might buy something a little special for our time away- meaning some nightwear besides my bright green sheep printed pants that have shrunk into a super special "I am ready for a flood" look, and my bright orange football jersey. I dunno, I don't want to get too carried away!

Do any of you pretty ladies have any quick fix up advice for me?

Forget your husband, take me! But ummmm, if you take me there NO NEED for new nightwear! I'm just sayin.

guess I'll have to check back for all the advice...

however, I was also thinking about increasing my water. I've gotten really bad about it lately. And the sugar? Good Lord, I've been bad.

Maybe you should hold me accountable or something. I need an intervention!

no advice here. when i finished the laundry the other day i noticed that the majority of the clothes i put away from my stack were pjs and sweats. so i'm surely with ya on the need to get back to taking care of things!

love the pin holding your pants together comment. hmm, not like i've ever done that one before! ;o)

I've got the total cure for the frumps. A bra that matches your underware. Seriously, in my morning rush I usually end up with some BAD combinations. Yellow underware, green bra (you get the picture). I feel so put together when I actually match where no one sees it. Yeah I know... I need help.

PS. Red lacey matching sets are the best o-:

Oops. I meant underwear. Whatever. I can't spell after 8:00.

Is this one of the "Weekend to Remember" conferences? There are 2 in our area right before Thanksgiving, and we thought about going but just couldn't afford it when it was time to sign up. Sounds like fun, though!! Save your money on new sleepwear - just "forget" to take the old worn out stuff.

Can frumpy teach frumpy? Hmmm, don't think so. But when I want to feel better a nice hair cut and a new set of clothes do make me feel better.
And yes, a new something to wear at night sounds like a good idea-especially if your hubby is still in pain and needs something to take his mind of it.:)
Have fun!
We actually went to one of these conferences several years ago but only got to do half of it because a hurricane came through.
You'll have to share some of the things you learned.
