I'm Working For My Weekend.

I just feel like I've got nuthin post wise. I have been a whirlwind of homeschooling, sports, baking, cleaning, etc, etc, but don't have a post whirling in my head as I do all this. I will say that I am getting ready for my annual girls get a way to a quiet lake with sweet little cabins. I am in charge of the event this year, so theme is "Park it and Relax!" or "Get Out and Enjoy Nature to Work off all the Yummy Food We Are Going to Prepare and Not Have to Share With Any Men or Offspring, While We Relax." There are no real planned activities, other than some silly ice breakers, devotionals, worship, and eating. I have booked in time in between those things for napping, reading, chatting, snacking, kayaking, hiking, walking, talking, sleeping, eating, lounging, chattering, snacking, and relaxing. How's that for a schedule? Last year the power went out during dinner due to a windstorm and someone sprained their ankle on a hike, so we have added more flashlights and first aid supplies to our list. Maybe I should add some heart burn medication to combat all the rich, delicious food we bring. (see, can I now just say that I have a stomach of iron, so I can't rely on heartburn or upset tummy to curb my eating at these weekends. I am going to just try old fashioned self control this time 'round. That and maybe stapling my eyelids closed so I can't SEE the food, stuffing cotton balls up my nose so I can't SMELL the goodies, and taping my mouth so I can't TASTE the treats. Oh, maybe I should tie my hands that might want to reach out and SNITCH one too many tasty morsels! Gosh, you would think this weekend is all about the food. Yah, right. We have a lot more than that planned (see above list).

Now I just need to write up a schedule for my husband, make some meals ahead for him, go grocery shopping for him, go shopping for my weekend food, prepare meals for weekend, pack, and prepare devotionals. Some of you may be wondering why my husband can't just fend for himself in the food department. For one, he is working hard this week, secondly, he is running kids to activities and coaching while I am gone, and thirdly, if I don't prepare dinners, he WILL feed the kids, but it will either be fast food, or as our 5 year old said today "Dad will give us licorice and cookies for lunch and supper."

I was just on the phone with Sonya, she was desperately trying to convince me to go. I'd like to but don't think there is any room left, is there? Maybe just for Friday night?

I know you are going to have a blast. All the hard work will be worth it in the end.
Your hubby sounds like mine. He would probably make a huge pot of baked beans and they would eat it for the weekend. That would have done for him and Michael...but Julia would not stand for it. :)
So..have a great time...don't eat too much...but enjoy yourself!
