Camping and Quiz Answers

We've been at a nearby lake for the past couple of days.

It wasn't that warm, but that didn't keep the kidlings out of the water.

Worn out from swimming across the lake:

Answers to my Canada Quiz:
How many states make up Canada? No States- we have 11 provinces, and 3 territories.
We don't have a President, but we have a ____? Prime Minister
What is his name? Stephen Harper -he is a Christian Conservative. I voted for him.
What are our two official languages? English and French. We don't use French much here in the west.
What is the name of our national anthem? O Canada

Comfy Denim: we don't have counties. I guess we have regions. In British Columbia (which is beautiful and you must come visit), we have areas like The Interior, The Okanagan, Peace River Country, The Lower Mainland- stuff like that.

Linda: we eat salmon here lots of the West Coast, not just on Canada Day. Where I live, there is a lot of First Nation people, so on celebration days there is often salmon, bannock, Indian dogs (wieners fried in dough), etc.

Jennifer: yes, Canadians generally accept everything and everyone (which isn't always good- and can lead to little backbone and immorality), but what makes you say that Canada would turn on the U.S? Just curious where your strong feelings come from.

Tomorrow starts a busy week as I will be helping out with our church's VBS. When I get a chance, I would like to post more about this.

Looks really nice. It is pretty amazing at how kids can and will swim in such cold water. I used to until my lips turned blue, but not anymore.

i loved the pics of your munckins all snuggled up in their towel...cute!

so salmon. the reason i asked is cuz i have not-so-great memories of salmon patties for meal after meal. i grew up by a river and during a rough patch my dad caught them over and over again to feed his fam. so needless to say i'd pick a hot dog over salmon anyday. thanks for answering and have fun at vbs!

That lake looks beautiful...just the way I picture Canada.
I absolutely LOVE salmon. Now here's a question: Do you actually pronounce the "l" in salmon?
I was taught that you say it "sammon" like "mammon"
but the people here in Alabama oftentimes say the "l" which makes me CRAZY!@!
So coming from salmon country, how do you say it?

There is nothing like swimming on a cool day. I don't blame the kiddos one bit. :)
It looks like a lot of fun.
I didn't do the quiz, I would have failed it anyway. Maybe not: I got three answers right in my head. in any case, I guess I need to learn more about my northern neighbors.

the beach photos look fabulous! your kids have that look on their faces that makes me want to make them grilled cheese sandwiches (which is what my momma used to make us after swimming real hard)

Love the beach photos!!

On a Canadian note, Manitoba is split into municipalities...I wonder if that's like a county in the states?
