4 Hot Mama's are Hitting the City. (in a mini van, but we're still HOT, ok?)

First, I will tell you that God came through big time for my loved one yesterday. Thanks to anyone who joined us in prayer.

Secondly, for those of you wondering if I had a chance to share Scripture with my aquaintance last night- no. She was not able to get together. I had a choice to pin her to the baseball field and force her to participate, or to trust God's timing. Since He will be doing the work, I decided to trust... I still pray for the courage to look for those opportunities to share. I have more thoughts on this, but that will be for another post.

ONE MORE SLEEP till the home school conference in the big city with my buddies!!!! So far, it seems that we are just homeschooling our 5 year old in kindergarten next year. I love teaching this age. This is what I am trained for and have lots of materials for already, so I am going to try not to buy a lot of stuff I don't really need. I tend to get over excited in the vendor area when I see all those delicious looking books!!! The purchase I am excited about (yes, I am excited over curriculum, ok? Other home school moms will understand this.) It is called Come Sit by Me, and is written by Cindy Regeling. You may remember Cindy as the co author of The Ultimate Lapbook (awesome). It is built around Canadian picture books, with the child making their own lapbook with each unit. We will just add in some math (Singapore), some phonics (no formal phonics program, plus An Ordinary Parent's Guide to Teaching Reading), and Bible.

I also plan to do some "shopping shopping" while I am in there. I have commented on the high ferry prices before- I don't think I have been in since my daughter's doc appt in January. Therefore, I hope to multitask this trip and get a few things done in there- we need to load up on socks and underwear (hello Walmart), plus, all 3 boys are wearing floods again. Time for longer pants, etc. Since our funds are a bit limited right now, I am hoping to get to a Value Village. You might smirk if you realized that the prospect of getting to wander around in there with no children to distract me makes salivate and clap my hands with glee! What have you learned about me from this post? To show me a good time, let me look at a book and go thrift shopping!!! I'm a cheap, easy to please date. I love my family, but am ready for a bit of mom time. All I can say is "Kathleen, START THE CAR, START THE CAR, START THE CAR!!!" If you don't know what I am talking about, or, if you are like me and STILL laugh every time you see it, go here.

by the way, getting away from children to shop is pretty much the most decadent thing on earth. mmmmmm. have a BLAST!

I'm ready to go! I'm feeling a bit sad that I won't be homeschooling next year. I am going to miss the fun and excitement of shopping for it!! Ok, the shopping isn't the only reason I'm going to miss homeschooling, there are others too ;-)

Oh, I LOVE girl's outings. I hope that you have a great time. I can only value shop, or I feel so guilty that I end up hating it. :)
So grateful that things went well for your loved one!

I've never seen that Ikea advert..... it made me laugh so loud, Tanzi came running to see. So I played it again and laughed even louder!
