Bad Parenting Moment #213

Little M, who will be 3 next month, danced from one foot to the next while clutching himself. He wouldn't allow himself to run from the kitchen to the bathroom until he cleared something with me. Pointing at his french toast, he sweetly, but a bit anxiously queried " You don't eat it, 'k Mom???" After I assured him twice that I WOULD NOT, he finally spun around, making it to the throne just in time!

It is not like I eat all my kids food, it is just that I have been known to sneak a few pieces of food here and there, especially at lunch, since I don't usually actually sit down to eat lunch. But are these the kind of things that my kids will remember about me- snitching food, not sharing chocolate, ranting about lost baseball uniforms, lecturing on changing socks and underwear??? Hopefully they will show mercy and remember my better moments. I've said it before, I don't know how I got this job!

such a funny post. i get that evil-eyed look sometimes if i am showing any signs of mommy stealing on my kids snacks. why is it that they worry about that...after all: WE GAVE BIRTH TO THEM! we can share right?

btw...i'm kinda hooked on "Deadliest Catch" lately. (if it's an episode with not many bleeps.) please tell me your "skipper's" job is not that intense? not only that, i surely don't know how you mommy's do it without the hubster being home every night. i turn into a wide-eyed chicken when mine is gone just overnight which isn't very often. so in other words...you are my hero girl!

I totally know what you mean. I think it's going to take years and maturity and loads of therapy for my kids to remember the good things I've done.

Yes, you are right....don't know how I got this job either. :)
But I guess they could have had worse in the Mom category.
Now it is not the problem of me snatching something off their plates but me actually getting something before it is all gone.
Gotta fight for your own around here.:)

I often wonder how I'm going to be remembered by my children too... will they remember the good stuff? or the crazy lady? I hope some of each!
