I'm Sailing High This Morning.

Everybody now!- to the tune of My Bonnie:

"My Skipper was on the ocean,

My Skipper was on the sea

My Skipper was gone so long

And finally came home to me."

Hurray! My hubby is back! The last 6 weeks have been tough without him at times. I grew up in a fishing family, so I am used to it in some ways, but we haven't done a stretch like this in years. I know it is nothing compared to those who are fighting overseas, let me just say that. It is a dangerous occupation though- every year it seems that some one dies along the Coast when a boat tips over, etc, so we are always glad to get our hardworking fisherman back home.

We all piled into the van late last night and met the boat at the dock. The kids were beaming and terribly impressed with their dad's docking skills. We were all in bed late, so today should be ....interesting.

The Skip got up early and left already catch the right tide in order to unload the boat. Trying to climb the dock ramps with your arms/wheelbarrow loaded at low tide is like trying to scale a wall, so one tries to always do it a high tide. The poor man will be doing that all day and then will meet me at the baseball field to meet our little T ball team that he and I are coaching. Tonight is our first game- did I mention that we are coaching 10 little boys, ages 4-6? It should be hilarious. We had our first practice on Monday and gee whilikers, they kept me hopping! Lots of energy on that team! Of course, my son (it is always the coach's kid, isn't it?) spent a lot of time having a snit in a tree instead of joining in. Hopefully having his dad around now will help smooth things out. Ok, I am off now to wake a few grumpy, over tired children. Maybe I will be mean and sing the "Rise and Shine" song.

6 weeks? Somewhere along the way, I missed that piece of information...

I bet you're elated!

I am so glad he is home!
I don't even have to ask you if you are glad he is home---you are like a school girl. ;)

Now be a nice Mom and don't torment you children with such songs.
Dad used to do that and we want to smack him. (in a respectful way of course)
Enjoy having your man home.Don't hand him the to do list too soon. :)
And ya'll have fun tonight, coaching together. The couple who plays together- stays together.

6 weeks...wow, I'm sure you're glad to have him home. My dad travelled for weeks at a time with his job when I was growing up. I sure remember the homecomings! He's owned his own company for the past 11 years and I know my mom is happy to have him home more often.

I cannot even imagine having my husband gone for six weeks. My hub comes home late (ie. 10pm) twice a week b/c of night classes and that's enough to shake the foundation of my very sanity.

Did you get an award or something? Because really, you should. A great BIG one in the form of a chocolate bar the size of your head. Oh, and I guess a little blue ribbon would be nice too.

Glad he's back. He doesn't leave again anytime soon, does he?

yahooooo that he is back! Doesn't it just bless you all over when you see how selfless your hubby is? I know after working like THAT the last thing I would do (oh, how funny! your comment just came in over here.... good morning!!!!) is go coach some kids playing ball.

blessings on your day (and I sing that song all the time!)

Oh.... I can hear you one happy girl to have your man home!!!! That is a lonnnnnnnnnnnng time!!!

What on earth is a "snit in a tree?" Was he sulking or having a pee? Never heard of this saying.... but I may want to adopt it.

Enjoy your hubby!

I thought I left a comment on this one earlier, but I don't see it! I am so happy for you!!

Yes, we DO have the same great taste! Don't miss tonight's Idol- they sing it again!! It is on youtube, too, I'm sure.
