A Belated Wish

(for all of you who read my post in Google reader or bloglines- I realized I messed up my pics (don't ask me how?!!!) and fixed it right away. If you clicked on the links, it took you to my photobucket account. Hope you didn't find my naked pictures (just kidding!) Seriously, I was joking- don't go look. Anyways, all is fixed now, I hope. Come to my actual blog to see.)
5 Years ago, right after the new year dawned, I found myself being hurriedly flown out of our small town to the Big City, via emergency helicopter. I was 28 weeks pregnant, and had just started leaking amniotic fluid. Our town OB explained that he was very sorry, but that I was going to have the baby in the next 24 hours, statistically speaking. So, as the Skipper and I flew out in the middle of the night, we, along with family and friends began to pray for a miracle. We got one. He was born (INDUCED) on Valentine's Day, 6 WEEKS LATER! Induced! Imagine that- it got to the point where the specialists said that since he was 34 weeks, it was less of a risk for him to be born than to keep carrying him with such little water inside! God is SO good. He was born 6 lbs, 2 oz, even though he was 6 weeks early. My first was an ounce less at full term! He was in an incubator for a while and tube fed until he could suck strongly enough to nurse and still keep his weight up.

9 days later, we were back home- what a great feeling after being away so long!

I just need to brag for a minute about the snake cake I made for his party. I think it looks pretty good, huh? The toothpicks are not horns- that is to keep the plastic wrap from sticking. Ok, cause I am honest, I have to tell you that this one was for a school carnival that day as well, but I made his the same. I got a better shot of this one.

We are truly blessed with all our children. Mr J is full of life- so full his eyes dance when he talks. Along with this comes LOTS of questions, lots of mischievousness, and lots of laughter. He is a good mix of his dad and I- logical yet comical. (guess which one I am) I love to watch him, as he looks like a mini version of my husband. He keeps us on our toes, and keeps us humble with his shenanigans! Happy 5th Big Guy!

And by the way I just love the story of you and your man-don't know if I have ever told you that.
Happy birthday to your man.God is able to keep all things to His time.

You did a good job on the snake cake. (That's probably the first time I've used "good" and "snake" in the same sentence. LOL!) Happy Birthday to your precious little miracle!

Mini-E was born on Valentine's day - due to a c-section. :-) Funny how that works.
