Saviour vs Santa
Have you been to a heart warming Christmas pageant this year? The kids put on a sweet, comical one at our church a couple weeks ago. Today we enjoyed one that was full of enthusiasm, fun, reflection, and talent. The reoccuring theme was the real meaning of Christmas- Jesus Christ's birth. Silent Night was sung, Mary's Boy Child was belted out with joy, a 12 year old did a solo of The First Noel. This all took place at....the public school down the road (GASP)!!!! I left with an uplifted heart and joyful spirit that Jesus was so openly acknowledged there today. This is the same school that A and K will be attending come January 7th. I felt like God put His arms around me and reminded me that He is in that place, even though it may not always seem so. I just love good ol' pageants. This one made my day and I just had to share. There are many schools around here that pointedly leave anything religious out of their programs- it is all about Santa, Solstice, presents, love, and family, etc. Do you find this in your area?

First let me get up on my soap box.
O.K..deep breath....AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
I attended Julia's program today. For me it was emotionless. It was all about Santa and how he fell and hurt his head and how if he did not remember who he was we might not have Christmas.
GRRRRRRRRRRR!
It was "cute" it was silly--it made me sad.
A few years ago I remember going to the same school and hearing all kinds of Good old Christmas songs being sung. Then someone complained. And then it stopped. Sad.
What a waste.
Glad you had a good experience.
God gave you a little nod. He is proud of you girl.
sounds good! I hope as the time draws near, you get more and more peace...and excitement! xo
