This is not one of those fun parenting moments.

My heart is hurting for our kids tonight. In the morning we have to tell them that their beloved kitten got run over and was killed. Two weeks ago it was our other cat who had to be put down because of a coon fight- the kids kept saying that at least they still had Cookie- she was our loveable, personable cat- not anymore... God is good, they will grow and get through this. I am sure we will be driving to the animal shelter tomorrow to get another, but man, I just am so not looking forward to seeing their little faces crumble tomorrow when we share the bad news with them. Sigh. I know it could be something so much worse, but don't you remember having to live out these moments in your childhood? I do, and it was heart wrenching. We are SO coming home with something furry and cute tomorrow. I am just hoping that it is just one- we have been talking about getting another dog too so our trusty canine Max can train it for us while he is still alive. I think that my hubby and I will have SUCKER written all over us as we are really feeling for our children.

So sorry!

I distinctly remember loosing my beloved cat when I was little.

I actually SAW him get run over. It was traumatizing.

I'm praying you get the perfect cat at the shelter and your kids pain is short lived.

I pray ya'll find something sweet for your kids.

I'm so sorry. It is hard on kids, but like you said, this can be a time of growth for them too. As a kid I watched our two kittens die slowly of kitty cancer. It was so hard, but definately brought maturity. ~K

I'm so sorry! I had a few kitties get hit by a car when I was young. It crushed me every time.

Hopefully the prospect of a new one will help
