The three oldest painted rocks today and we placed them where we buried the cats. Hopefully we will not be digging anymore graves here for a long time. All we have left is one big, heavy and well loved dog. I am going to phone the animal shelter tomorrow to track down a kitten. Thanks for all your comments on the last post. Our kids handled the news of another pet's demise as well as could be expected. Mr J, our 4 year old, immediately figured that now he could get a new puppy, 2 kittens, and a tarantula. Nice try.

Oh Jane, how sad for your kids. I'm sorry! What a great mom you are to do the rocks and garden. Great healing idea!
cool idea-- not cool that loved pets have to die, but a great way for the kiddos to visit their chums!
That is just so sad to me. :(
*hugs* for you and the children.
We did a little grave site for our dog too. Keith made a cross out of a cut block and we place it on his grave with some rocks.
A very tender moment.
