I have been absent for a few days as our hard drive bit the dust. Nice to be back!

Well, after my post on not celebrating Christmas till Dec 1st, I bent the rules a bit. Why? Because we got snow the next day! Regardless of the fact that many of you think that Canadians live in igloos year round, I am here to tell you that we don't get very much snow. The last white Christmas may have been more than 7 years ago. (do you remember, Kathleen?) We get a bit in November and then maybe again in January. It is often gone in 24 - 48 hours, but occasionally we get it for a week. So, seeing how we were actually getting some white stuff sticking on the ground by late afternoon, we wolfed down dinner to Christmas music, bundled up and went and had family play time in the snow. I broke my sacred law of no Christmas music played in the house till December, just in case it didn't snow again this year. We were coming home from play practice and had stopped at the grocery store when the slushy rain turned into soft, white flakes. We got out of the van exclaiming and cheering on the snow, while a man unloading his groceries next to us suddenly yelled, "NO, GO AWAY!!!" My kids and I stood there stunned for a minute because we thought he was referring to us, until I realized that he was in fact yelling at the snow. We get pretty excited over the weather around here! Our snow is gone, by the way- we are supposed to get more this weekend. I want a really big dump of it!!!

I do remember our last white Christmas and i would like another one this year. We got excited about the snow too. The way I look at it is if it's going to snow, I want real snow that sticks around for a couple of days. Snow we can play in and build snowmen with. Remember our snow last year at this time? That was good snow! A full week of fun!

I'm with you! I love me some snow!!!! But not just "snow". I'm talking BLIZZARDS that shut the town down and leaves you homebound. Bring it on, baby!

We've only had a few of those in the last...10-15 years. And I'm SO ready for it!!!!

Well...except for the fact that we have a dog who needs to go outside, regardless of weather, to poop. ;) Can't be doing that mess indoors.

It's so funny that we live in the same country, but our climates are so different! Canada's a pretty huge place though, and you guys are on the other side of the Rockies. It's a good thing we love snow too, since there will be several feet of it before winter is done. :-)

I love the snow! I would much rather have it than the cold!

Well you get more snow than us. I can't remember the last time we saw a flake. And yes if you are fortunate to see a flake--we freak.
A cold front means we might see temps in the 40's. When it reaches the below freezing--lots of panic about pipes are heard.
I would love to see some snow though.
Glad the Grinch is gone. ;)
Merry Christmas
