I Am a Grinchy Pants for 6 More Days.

Well, I always know when you Americans have had your Thanksgiving. Do you know why? The radio stations start to play lots and lots of Christmas music! I love Christmas. I love carols. I love winter and snow and present shopping. I even love Christmas pageants and all the chaotic practices that go along with the package. BUT, I like to SAVOUR the holidays. You will not find me Christmas shopping in September or October- perhaps I will do a bit in November. I don't like to rush the season. So, that means no decorations put up, no Christmas CD's, no Christmas baking till DECEMBER 1st baby! I made my daughter turn off a carol today. Aren't I mean? Maybe my November heart is 2 sizes too small. I also have a dog named Max. Hmmmm. I do not live near Whoville though, and I hope, hope, HOPE, my physique looks better!

Would you hate me if I told you ALL my Christmas shopping is done? Really, it's not a charicter flaw, it's just that I love the shopping, hate the crowds. ~Karlie

You are so MEAN!
We put our tree up over a week ago - and I let my kids talk me into Christmas music as well. I had been a lot like you - and didn't allow it - but I found that we savor the season by having it not be so rush rush - jammed into a couple of weeks. I love having the tree up for about 6 weeks as opposed to putting it up and taking it right back down. It is a lot of work.
Anyway - to each his own - everybody has to do what they feel comfortable, or what they enjoy.

Cindy Lou Hoo here telling you that you are definitely a Grinchy pants. Don't you know that you should start your Christmas celebration the day after the United States' Thanksgiving? :) It makes perfect sense!

I usually wait until Dec 1st for decorations, but this year I just couldn't do it. We decorated yesterday. :)

We start thinking Christmas as soon as Halloween is over. :-) We decorated the outside of the house yesterday afternoon after church and we're working on the inside today. Much of my shopping is done, Emily's been practicing carols on her violin for weeks, and we've already enjoyed a few steamy cups of hot chocolate (with peppermint schnapps for the grown-ups) I think it's the snow. Do you guys have snow yet? Snow just makes everything feel so holiday-y. :-)

The eyes look o.k--let's see the fingers.:)
And we listen to Christmas music all of yesterday as we were on our way to get our tree. Hmmmmm--guess that is why my house smells so good.

Oh baby, I live with the Grinch. And can I join the hate-but-really-love Karlie club? I can't believe she is done!

Jane, this was so funny! I love that you're a "grinchy pants" til December. :-) All you're really doing is fighting the gross Christmas commercialism! Okay, I do have a tree already up and decorated, but I totally get you!

Down here in the lower 48, I feel lucky to make it to Thanksgiving.

They were playing Christmas music at Walmart the day after HOLOWEEN! And it was 85 degrees that day!

I must say that now that Thanksgiving is over I am degrinching.

Christmas? Bring it on!

*LOL*
I don't think you're green enough.
But you're allowed to wait until Dec. 1st. I'm waiting to put my Christmas cards - which through some miraculous thing are ready to go out - for saturday. :-)

The kids are already counting the days until Christmas. *sigh*
