I know that some of you have been praying for us regarding whether or not to continue homeschooling at this time. We heard a sermon that we were meant to hear this morning. The pastor went through 2 Thessalonians 3. Here are two of my favorite verses from that passage:
May the Lord direct your hearts into God's love and Christ's perseverance. (v 5)
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. (v 16)
I am going to commit these verses to memory and pray them through out the day.
So, I said that my husband and I were meant to hear the sermon. Did an answer become clear? NO. BUT, I think that we both felt a reassurance that we are not alone in the situation- that God is there in the midst- that we can have PEACE. The answer will come. In the meantime, I will work on trying not to scheme ways to make things work. In truth, our schedule works, our eclectic curriculum is great- the issues we are dealing with here go deeper than that, and I CAN'T JUST FIX IT! I do strongly feel that God is at work though. I just wish He would speak to me out of a burning bush or something really obvious. I really have to be hit over the head with the truth sometimes. I'll let you know how things are going in that department. I don't want to go on to much about it.
On a lighter note, my MIL is coming for a 3 week visit tomorrow. My hubby and 2 of the boys are driving into the Big City to pick her up at the airport. She lives in Ontario,(which is 4 big provinces over to the east, so we haven't seen her since last fall). She is a dream MIL, in that I do not have to stress at all over cleaning my house for her stay- she is so easygoing that way. AND she does all the laundry. Read and weep ladies- my 6 laundry hampers are EMPTY, that is E-M-P-T-Y when she is here!!!

My thoughts:
1. Because you are seeking after God's best for your family, you can't go wrong.
2. A 3-week stay with anyone in my family sounds like pure torture.
3. What an amazing gift that you aren't phased by that!
4. Seriously? ALL the laundry?? WOW. I want to be that kind of mother in law. Or mom, even. :)
Hi! Thanks for leaving such a sweet comment on my blog!
I am so impressed with you home schooling moms - how I wish I had done that with my children. I tell them now that someday I would love to be a home-schooling grandma!
Keep seeking God's will on your delemna - He will come through for you - when you least expect it usually! And when He does you will know beyond a shadow of a doubt what His good and pleasing perfect will is.
And what a great MIL! Enjoy your time together!
It is so hard to wait, but so worth it to be sure of your decision and God's will for you. I'm glad you got some encouragement during your "time of waiting."
Sounds like my mother in law. Nice that you recognise the blessing!
Glad you are hearing the voice of the Lord even if it is not the answer yet.
Have you found out about if you are going to do the eye surgery.
Hope I am not getting this mixed up with someone else.
But I think you said to try and get it done while your MIL was there.
I am glad you love your MIL. My first one was like that.
Homeschooling is such a huge decision. Praying for you guys!
Have a great visit with your MIL. She sounds fantastic!
Have fun with your MIL! I'm glad you have a terrific one! I have always told my husband that his mother-in-law is MUCH better than mine. He completely agrees!
Keep praying and seeking God! I am ready to pull Holly out of public school. Seems I spend as much time with her on homework as I did homeschool. Poor child has precious little free time.
Praying for you! It's so tough to wait for an answer but it's even tougher to go back and fix one that you've rushed into. Hoping you get a clear answer soon!
Praying for you, Jane.
Can I sneak some of my laundry into your basket? :-)
