No, this isn't a post debating versions of God's Word, it is to share something that I have had written on the inside cover of my Bible for the past 15 years or so. I wanted to share it with you all:
The Lord is my constant companion.
There is no need that He cannot fulfill.
Whether His course for me points
to the mountaintops of glorious ecstasy
or to the valleys of human suffering,
He is by my side,
He is ever present with me.
He is close beside me
when I tread the dark streets of danger,
and even when I flirt with death itself.
He will not leave me.
When the pain is severe,
He is near to comfort.
When the burden is heavy,
He is there to lean upon.
When depression darkens my soul,
He touches me with eternal joy.
When I feel empty and alone,
He fills the aching vacuum with His power.
My security is in His promise
to be near me always,
and in the knowledge
that He will NEVER let me go.
I don't know who wrote this or where I got it from, but it has been a blessing to me many times.

Beautiful.
On the inside cover of my Bible I have taped ....my wedding announcement from the newspaper. It's been there nearly 11 years now. I know, it should be kept nice in an album somewhere, but this way I see it everyday. :-)

I don't have anything taped to the cover but I keep a few things in there. I 'll have to post them on my blog. Thanks for the idea.
That is so great. Strangely enough, I bought a Bible cover/carrier to hide what was written in the cover of my favorite Bible. My mom had been married to a loser at the time and it was signed from both of them and used a lot of "we" phrases. I didn't want to be reminded of him.
Not quite as inspiring as yours. :)
But I'm sure she said something about what a perfect daughter I was!! :)
That post reminded me of when I inherited my grandmother's Bible when she died. I loved and still do, looking through for all her handwritten notes and seeing what she thought spiritually. She was a great lady, and I miss her dearly.
That is really beautiful. I don't have much in my Bible, other than a few sticky notes. Which makes me kind of sad. When I open my grandmother's Bible, there is wisdom written from cover to cover, in every margin and former blank space.
Blessings,
Hallie
Inside my Bible I have bookmarks made at VBS by my grandchildren, and those that have verses that reach my heart. But mostly I have written in a quote that was on a Sunday School poster " A Bible that is Falling Apart, usually belongs to a Person who isn't."
What a great post, I am glad I came by, by way of Karen.

I have a letter from a Bible study I did. It is a reminder to stay where I am susposed to be with God. I have a picture of myself before I lost my weight. And there are various pieces of paper with notes written on them.
What a wonderful verse to have in your bible! I have nothing in my cover, but I have highlighted, underlined, and commented all over my bible. It looks like a huge mess, but if there was ever a fire, I'd grab it before the pictures (but after the children of course) (;. ~Karlie
I love it!
Just wanted you to know I'm missing you!
Just wanted you to know I'm missing you!
Just checking in.
Miss ya.
I'm slow.
Or distracted.
Then I realized that I was missing you. I hope all is well. You are thought of much.
Bleach free blessings!!
