Julie showed us some of the cool door knobs in her house. We are living in a house that we have been building for the last 2 and a half years. There is a lot of finishing to do. One thing I am dying to do is to paint our front door. I finally have decided on a color, which is the big color swatch on the door. It is a Benjamin Moore color called Hudson Bay , which is a large bay in Eastern Canada- very important in the history of our nation. I liked the name- silly, but I need to like the name as well as the color! Go on over and visit Julie if you would like to link up to show us something around your house.

I looked at this post after I published it and it is hard to see the color. Trust me, it will look nice.

Of COURSE you have to like the name of the paint too. I get it. :-)
It will look very nice, but I'm afraid you will have to get new flower pots. Those blue ones will be lost against a blue door. Maybe you should get some red ones that would add some zing!
I also need to like the name of my paint. Our living room is Benj Moore Oklahoma Wheat. I certainly wouldn't have picked it if it was named curdled cream!
That is why I love coming here--I just love your brain!
Now I know you don't want to name your kids or pets(not that they fall into the same category of course) something you don't like, but I did not realize that paint fell into that same important issue. :)
I love your front door and the lead up to it. I love it the way it is but the blue will be nice and draw the eye in. I guess not being from ya'lls area-- the name does not quiet mean as much. Kind of like the last color I purchased for my living room was, Navajo White--wouldn't mean so much to ya'll. No I am not Indian more so Italian. Wish I had some of the other then I would not need a tan for my fat to look better. :)
Well enough flapping my lips-- I need to go post.
Talk at ya later.
In my bloglines it looked to be the same color as your flower pots, right?? it's a very pretty color.
Good luck with that! Be sure to show us the finished project!
It is almost the same color as my pots. Kathleen is right- i should get some red ones. See, the door was originally going to be a greeny-blue or a rust red. I couldn't find the greeny blue I wanted, and my hubby didn't like the red. I am not sure when we will paint... I will post pics when we do.
We picked a "Picasso Blue" for our dining room and I love Picasso and now I love our dining room. I could stare at it for hours. Just the walls. Not the floor, which is NOT Picasso Blue, more like Messy Toy Mauve.
I love that color of blue. Great name too. "Hudson Bay" sounds much better than something like "Gulf of Mexico" Or "Okeechobee Lake" (in Southern Florida). You'll have to post a picture when it's done.
Hey girl -
I know you're not condemning - Hebrews 10:25 - not to forsake the assembling of yourselves - but it doesn't say that has to be at church - it means that Christians are supposed to live in community with each other. We are praying for God's next step - but that may be having a home church in our house - or something else.
The world is wide open.
I may address this in a follow-up post!
I like the color...very in blueish.
Love the blue! It will look great on your door, and I do agree with how pretty your entrance area is.
i think it will look great.. i like deep colors..
