Maybe I am biased, but I am so impressed with this mother and baby sculpture my 11 year old daughter made out of playdough! the mother is sitting, rocking her baby, just in case it is hard to make out at first.

This was a sad morning: Little M burnt and blistered up the ends of his fingers when he touched a hot stove burner. We kept his hand in cold water on and off all morning. His sister was ingenious- in this picture she has given him a little pile of chocolate chips to cheer him up!

Prawn season ended on Thursday, so we tailed a bunch up for the freezer.

Here is what caused the most excitement during the last few days- the arrival of our new kitty.

The kids made a list of names on the board:
Gretzky (after Wayne Gretzky)
Wayne (after the same)I vetoed these as it is a girl cat.
Mellow
Bonnie
Chipper
Blackie
Roberta (after Roberto I-don't Know-how-to-spell-his-last-name: Canuck goaltender. Kathleen will know who I mean.)
Chocolate Chip Cookie
Anyways, we put the names in a hat, and Chocolate Chip Cookie won. I don't think my hubby is too thrilled with calling that around the yard. Anyhoo, it has since been revised to Cookie Cat. I myself would have preferred a jazzier name, but it is not about me!

LUONGO! That definitely would have won in our house.
Cookie Cat is cute, although I really can't imagine your hubs calling "Cookie, where are you Cookie?"
What a cute kitty. It looks a lot like ours before he got so fat he looks pregnant all the time. His name is Pedro.
My son's first pet was a gold fish which he named Spotty Lion. His mind was set and there was no changing it. You could shorten in to Chip. He's really cute!
i love the sculpture!
ouch on the fingers.. i hope he's better..
and cookie is adorable.. picking a name for one of the various animals we seem to acquire is always an all out battle here.. it takes weeks..
.....Wow you sure have had a few busy days over there! That is one unusual name for a cat!!!lol
Even with his fingers burn't he still looks pretty happy! The chips did the trick!
That sculpture looks great.....Henry Moore-ish!?!
you should have called him Wayne! Our almost 6 year old cat Mario is named after....Mario Lamux! (My husband grew up in Pittsburgh, AND shares the same birthday with Mario.)
Our cats could have played hockey!
how are the fingers doing?
I think you have an artist and future mommy in your family!
I love the name Cookie! :) So cute!
What do you do with prawns? Are they eaten like shrimp?? Clue me in!
