Choose Life

We are still enjoying our company. They are here till Monday- it will be sad to see them go. We hope to see them again next year if we take a cross Canada trip in our 5th wheel...

Here is where we are going next month. This is a beautiful lake to vacation on. We have never been to this campground before, so we are hoping it is nice. I know there are train tracks nearby- something we are not accustomed to.

A and K are away again at their dad's for a couple of weeks. It has been 6 days since they left, and yesterday I developed an ache in my chest that won't go away. I haven't heard from them in a couple of days, so that is probably why I am feeling a little anxious. I know that the Lord is with them, it is just that full time mommy withdrawal hitting me. No cure except to have all my chicks back in the nest!
If they were homesick, they would be calling more, so I guess it is all going well.

I re read this verse yesterday, while sitting on my new porch swing (aaaahhhhh, so relaxing- a gift from our company).

This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Deuteronomy 30, vs 19 - 20

These verses hold such promise for us, but it also is clear that we are to participate in God's promises. We don't earn favour and God is full of grace, but at the same time, our lives should show the evidence and conviction of a growing, real, Christian. So, sitting there on my porch, I recommited myself to love the Lord, listen to His voice, and hold fast to HIM.

Thank you for visiting my blog. I think I see you on Sharon's blog? I loved this post, really is such life in these passages and the fact that we are to participate in the promises. Lots of peace over you. xxx

You wrote that you must "participate in God's promises". YES! You totally called it! I can't tell you how many times I've heard people whine because things aren't working out quite like they should, because they are totally missing the point! AWESOME post. ~Karlie

Praying for you and your kiddos. I imagine you DO have an ache in your chest.

Email me with your email address; I have a little something to share with my freckled bloggy friend. :)

My oldest went to camp this year for the first time. I had no contact with him and it was sooooo hard. Is there any way that you can call them? Sometimes it just helps to hear their voices so that they can reassure you that they are alright.
Beautiful thoughts in the end there.
