Who needs to buy tickets to a circus, just have a meal with us!

Ok, it doesn't RUIN my life, but without a sense of humour, it could be a bit overwhelming. I made fish tonight. A death sentence for a seven year old boy. Before we sat down, I was thinking how healthy and wonderful it would be to have some succulent halibut (white fish)that my husband brought home from a fishing trip... Anyways, it was just me at home with the kids, as hubby was still working. I put ONE flake of fish on K's plate. I was positive and firm- he just had to eat that one little piece. He plugged his nose, his voice started whining higher, he held it to his lips, made a gagging noise... his siblings let out a cry, I said, "everyone stop. Eat your food, don't look at him or listen to him. Fish is so good for us!!!"...Into the mouth it went, his eyes watering and pleading at me...then he threw up on his plate... not spat up, the real barfing deal. Well, that created some excitement! His tween sister shrieked, covered her mouth, and ran out onto the deck gagging. 4 year old brother was awestruck, and Little M started trying to spit and made gagging noises himself : "bluck, bluck, bluck!" I put my head in my hands and laughed. I didn't have the heart to make him try anymore. He said he was dizzy... Reminds me of Calvin from Calvin and Hobbes. Reminds me of my mom trying to get me to eat moose liver..."BLUCK, BLUCK, BLUCK!"

YUCK! I had extra kids one day and I made quesadillas... just tortillas with cheese. One kid didn't want it; I told him to try one bite. He did and threw up EVERYWHERE. How on earth can they get themselves so worked up so quickly?? Nasty. I'm impressed wtih you laughing about it!! I want to be more like you! :)

You have one, too??
Wow. My daughter has thrown up over something she didn't want to eat and often goes without eating. :-) She's a mess.

Watch out if your son starts building snowmen scenes. :-)

When we have something that Julia does not like she say, "I am going to need some extra drink for this". :)
Halibut is great!
It is great grilled with butter, Worcestershire, garlic, lemon and Rosemary. Yum!
Love Rosemary with almost any fish.
