When You Thought I Wasn't Looking
When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator,
and I wanted to paint another one.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you feed a stray cat,
and I thought it was good to be kind to animals.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me,
and I knew that little things are special things.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I heard you say a prayer,
and I believed there is a God I could always talk to.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I felt you kiss me goodnight,
and I felt loved.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes,
and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared
and I wanted to be everything that I could be.
When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked...
and wanted to say thanks for all the things
I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.

How was your day as a mom today? I am becoming more and more aware of the fact that parenting is not for cowards, yet it is not for the proud. I need transparency and an attitude of humbleness before the Lord as I cannot represent Him well to my children on my own power. Our unspoken language is so evident to children. I pray that more and more I will react in a Godly manner to situations in front of them and ask for forgiveness when I mess up! (I did not have a blow up today, these are just some thoughts that run through my head daily.) I often find myself chanting, "I can do ALL things through HIM who strengthens me!"

You can do it girl.
Not doing so well with sugar at the moment. I think I have been stressing over some things and have been on the hunt for sugar fixes. Last night before I went to be I actually got a pinched nerve in my neck. Had to get up last night and take a pain pill it was so bad. No excuse I know--need to stop putting sugar on the stress.
Are you O.K?
Is there something I can be praying for?
Remember that Satan is a lier and a deceiver. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
Love ya sister!
I look forward to seeing those comments from my moon friend!
Such good words for me. I've read your words twice already and will again. I appreciate you- just want you to know that!
This post was such an encouragement to me. I've been feeling really challenged to step it up in my parenting. I've not been the best mom lately. Thanks for the affirming words.
Mommy-hood, esp HOMESCHOOL Mommy hood is NOT For Wimps! :-)
I think we are the most prone to get run down, discouraged, frustrated and hopeless. But hear this!
There is HOPE. That's what was being preached to me...we have to have Hope. I realize the Bible says love is greater - but we can't forget HOPE.
We can do this!! We have the HOPE in Jesus! (And the hope of an older homeschool woman who lived through homeschooling her 4 children - and they are bearing much fruit for the kingdom of God!!) HOPE!
amen sista...
