Well, it is one of THOSE days again! I am totally blessed so let me just qualify my complaints here- I get that none of these things are serious problems and I promise I WON'T dwell on them!
A and K were totally unfocused(fighting over erasers, pencils, arguing over the whistling/noises K makes while concentrating, playing the piano in the middle of math time, reading on the toilet instead of doing math, etc!) with school today. I gave them the "if someone walked into our home today and heard the way you two are speaking to each other, would they know that you know Jesus" talk- while I am saying this in a very cross voice, wondering in my head if I sound like someone who knows Jesus! I followed up that lecture with the " I am not willing to homeschool if you two don't use teamwork" discussion, to which K, my seven year old boy, wistfully replied, "I would LOVE to go back to public school." Ouch.

J and Little M dumped all the toys bins in the family room, played in the BBQ (it wasn't lit), got into the fridge, etc. You would think I was totally absent, but I was actually here today- jsut not on top of everything. I guess I am feeling restless too, to be honest. I realized in the middle of the day that I hadn't had my quiet time with God this morning. Hello! If I were Him I would just want to WHACK ME! How many times does this have to happen before I GET it! Not that I have perfect days when I have my bible/prayer time, but I am more God centered, humble, and patient, which of course sets a better mood. All in all, I am more DENSE to grasp solutions to situations and spend too much time being frustrated when I forget to give my days to God. Anyhoo, there has been some good things about today and we have had some laughs.

Everyone is going to bed early, so hopefully I can sit down and enjoy the hockey play offs with my hubby later- but first I will have my quiet time! Thanks for listening, I feel better already!

Well it's good thing you told us that bbq wasn't lit, I was beginning to wonder about your parenting style.

You definitely need to enter to win the iPod. Those are not the kinds of contests I win, but if I do happen to win I'll share the chocolate with you although you'll have to get in line behind Comfy Denim, I promised it to her first.

Enjoy the game tonight, if it goes badly keep your windows closed, I wouldn't want you to hear Bill's ranting!

I am getting ready to get my crew off to school and then I am going to have some time with God.
I have been soooo empty lately.Life's circumstances can drain us quickly so I have to make sure I fill up often.
Glad you felt better after talking.
This blog world is a gift from God for women--there is always someone to listen.

I think it is wonderful that us mommies can have an outlet such as a blog to vent, think as we write, and at times release situations that are bugging us! I must admit, I often forget about my early morning time with the Lord! Thanks for the soft wrap over the knuckles I needed it!

Reading on the toilet - that would be progress in my house in the area of reading! My kids aren't readers and it kills me. Everyone has tough days. Hang in there.
