Family "Ties"

So, see that smiling dude above? THAT is the boy that choked, wheezed, and gasped if I ever ventured to ask him to wear a collared shirt. Fortunately for him, we rarely go anywhere where such a dress code is required! This year, however, his hockey team travels over the ferry into the Big City twice a month to compete. The coach laid down a dress code, and asked the boys to wear a dress shirt and tie on those days. Guess who now LOVES his collared shirts and ties??? Thanks, hockey- though you are costing us big bucks and a lot of gas, I still thank you for this unexpected accomplishment- seeing my boy looking all spiff.




...and it's contagious. The taller gentleman in this next pic, has been instructing his younger brother in the fine art of tie tying...after only one demonstration by his father (who looks mighty fine all cleaned up too, I might add). They have been wearing ties to the pool (thankfully not "in" it), to the library, and I even saw one of them outside on his bike, with his colorful tie flapping outside his big winter coat.

It has been a long time since I have blogged, and I miss keeping up with you all. I have had a major writing block or something...I don't quite know what it is. I think it is connected to me missing my girl, and the words just don't come, or I fear that I will be too deep and mournful, so I don't post anything! Tonight I erased about 5 different posts, but vowed I would get something out! I hope to get going here again and keep in better touch with you all.
