Being a highly freckled person with a farmer tan (one of the MAJOR drawbacks of refusing to wear a swimsuit) results in a brown freckled neck, face, arms, and legs up to the mid-thighs. When you couple this type of tan with a bathing suit- all the problem areas are the exposed, highlighted by the fact that they are glaring white with lavendar under tones, and completely freckleless.
I am not a beach lounger. Our beach trips involve lugging snacks and supplies over to the desired area, checking tide pools for cool creatures, crab hunting, rescuing children who have forgotten about the drop off as they play in the waves, climbing over logs to kiss scraped knees better, etc. These activities involve kneeling, bending over, and running- all the things I refuse to do publicly while scantily clad.
Until going to the beach stops being a sport instead of a leisure activity, I will stick with what works:

Add a hat, sunglasses, and crocs, and I am good to go!!!

I have found that with enough time in the sun my freckles from a distance give the appearance of a tan. Just don't look to close.
