Since tomorrow is a day off, The Skipper and I zipped to the corner store to get a movie to watch with the kids. We came back and noticed that our J, our five year old, had an huge band aid across his nose. I laughed as it was big enough to cover his knee and was even completely over one nostril. When we asked him why, he said that he just liked band aids.
Ok, whatever, our kids are quirky that way... It wasn't till later, on the way to bed, that my brain's light bulb finally switched on, cause he insisted he did not want me to take the bandage off.
Hmmmm, sure enough, there was skin off of one bloody outer nostril. "What did you do to your nose?". "
Ummm, " he avoided looking me in the eye, and tapped chin as if to remember, "
ummm, I forget..." It took me a minute, then I got it "Where you trying to shave?" I queried, while turning my head away and grinning...
"yes." was the wavering reply.
If you could have seen his face and his little skinned nostril, you would have burst out laughing like The Skipper and I did too. (don't worry, we did the whole talk about getting in more trouble for lying, etc...and waiting 10 more years to pick up a razor.)

I think I was his age or a little younger when i picked up a razor and took the skin off my shin bone...yes, the pain of washing it off with water was punishment enough.
Although I do believe I told Mom I had scraped it on something...shame on me. :(
I still have the scare...hope his bobo goes away.
Aw...sweet thing.
I remember the first time I tried to sneak a shave...I cut the shower curtain. Evidence right there for my mom to see.
He must have plans for a very high mustache to be shaving his nose... :P And tell him to NOT use his finger to swipe the hair out of the razor either... bad idea.
hahahahahahaha.
how's this for time flying? my son ACTUALLY has the need to shave very very soon. seems like these stories were just yesterday.
my nephew was visiting us once while his mama was at a conference for the weekend. when she got back she asked what was wrong with his eyebrow. umm, it was MISSING!!! yep, razors and little boys are not a good mix!
