What have we been up to in the last week or so? Lucky you, I am going to give you a quick (maybe not so short) snapshot of the past several days. Oh la lally! June has been CRAZY! Lots of bd's, the last one being our oldest son, K. (I REALLY have to think of a better moniker for him) Lego Boy, Mr Professor, Brains, Goofy Guy, Hyper Loud Whistling Machine, Book Worm, Walking Encyclopedia would all fit. Actually, I often call him my walking encyclopedia, so maybe I can come up with something there. My "K" is also sweet, gentle and quirky. He is a really nice child, and will make a wonderful babysitter in a few years. He is so gentle with younger ones. You can often catch him squatting down and talking to the little ones or playing with babies when he is at a gathering. The rest of the time he is often found yelling "cowabunga!" and charging around, or giggling with his many cousins or buddies. Anyways, he just turned 9 last week, against my stern warnings to not try to grow up.

If you are trying to figure out my baking creation in the above photo, it is a huge hockey stick. It may not look totally perfect, but it tasted pretty good.piano recital

Here's the news you all have been waiting for! Meet our new baby:
Wilson
He loves The Skipper.

He is part Shepherd, Lab, plus who knows what else. He is a wonderful addition to our family and my FAVORITE part of this faze, is that HE SLEEPS ALL NIGHT AND HASN'T EVEN CHEWED A SHOE YET! We told our other trusty hound that it is his job to train this little pup, and so far, he is doing a pretty good job.
He looks less than thrilled with the task in this particular picture, but trust me, he seems to be pretty happy with the new little pup.

on the subject of turning 9...hmm, that sounds familiar! what a handsome young boy you got there. and he sounds like a real sweetheart too.
glad you've been a good kind of busy!
No one in our house has a shoe without bite marks on it. Lucky you!!
I love a boy who can sport a candy bracelet with pride. :)
Great cake. Impressive. Hockey cake in the summer? You'd think you lived in Canada or something, eh?
Yay! How cool are you for getting a puppy?! Little "new additions" all over bloggyland...
He is completely adorable, and I am glad he is behaving himself for you.
Love the hockey cake! :-) And Wilson is too cute.
Happy Canada Day!
Happy Birthday to your guy!
We're about to hit what we call 'Birthday Alley' here.
We have 5 birthday's 8 weeks starting the 5th.
Your new puppy is adorable! Happy birthday to your son.
oh! how cute! (forgive the short comments today! sooooo behind!)
I love Wilson! He looks a little bit like my Riley. People always ask if Riley is a Lab, but no, he's Kelpie (Australia cattle dog) and Border/Heeler. Maybe Wilson has some of that in him...
