A yogurt smoothie
A Pancake with Maple Syrup
A strawberry muffin
A banana and cream cheese/yogurt dipping sauce

hang on, I am so anal that I have to say that our youngest, the one in the red shirt, does not usually walk around with a soother. Yes, he does use it at night, but that is usually it. He must have popped it in his mouth on the way into our bedroom. Ok, I am done being uptight now.

You all have to let me brag for a minute about how everything was made from scratch (except the yogurt) and without any adult assistance. PLEASE forgive my pride and delight in their ability as lately it hasn't seemed like I am seeing a lot of "fruit" for my labour. They even cleaned up decently! It made my day! PLUS, hubby took the day off work (this is our main fishing season and he usually has to work 7 days a week at this time) and gave me a bright happy bouquet of flowers and a sweet card. I got coupons from the kids for different things and some lovely hand drawn cards from them as well.
WAIT!
Don't gag and leave here yet.
I have read some lovely blog posts about moms getting spoilt on Mother's Day and being specially honored by their families, BUT I want to give a shout out to those whose day STANK yesterday, to those who went unnoticed and unappreciated. I have had some crummy Mother's Days too. Times where everyone was sick, or my hubby was away or the kids never stopped fighting, or I was a single mom, or I felt sorry for myself, etc. I have friends who spent the day feeling unappreciated and unnoticed, whose husbands didn't set a good example for their kids in honoring their wife. Two days ago I wanted to pack my bags and just KNEW my husband didn't care about me anymore- I told him Mother's Day was cancelled in this house this year because of a comment I thought he had made. Thankfully we worked that out and he is a wise enough man to not ignore my cancellation notice! If you had a yucky Mother's Day, know that you are not forgotten, and that you are not alone. We have all had those kind of disappointments and I think we need to let each other know that . So, to all those moms out there who maybe never heard it yesterday, "Thank you. You are loved by the Lord, You are seen by Him always, and you are appreciated by this Canadian mom!"

I'm so glad you had a great Mother's Day. The pictures are great! Wow, you look very nice for just waking up. I'm afraid any pictures of me in the morning would be banned from the internet. :-) It is great when the kids get old enough to cook GOOD food for us.
It is so nice when the kids get old enough to do something like this! You do look great in the AM! I would have hid from the camera, for sure!
NO, NO, NO, We had already been to church, so I was fully dressed, people! This.is.not.how.I.look.in.the.morning.
haha! It's NOT how you look in the morning? I thought everyone looked that awesome in the week hours! (not)
I love that you got some fab food and great company & that you finally had worked up an appetite enough to eat your whole breakfast! Yay for your hubby & kids!
*the soother thing killed me, btw- I totally would have done the same thing!
Also, good for you for that last bit for the Cr*ppy Mother's Day people.... too many times we forget that our little celebrations & bliss are not happening in every home- it's a good reminder that God sees the hard work those 'forgotten' mamas do!
this is why I read ya! great post!
wonderful post
beautiful family
loving husband
fabulous kids
gorgeous and thoughtful mommy!
~i love reading your blog!
I'll have to remember to get up and go somewhere BEFORE my kids serve me breakfast in bed. That way I could look good too! :-) I love that they made you get back in bed for it. So very cute!!
Cute how the kids are watching your every move as you try your "breakfast". No pressure or anything, mom, but you must smile upon swallowing" ;)
And NEVER apologize for thinking highly of your kiddos. I LOVE hearing mothers honor their kids by not being afraid to highlight their good stuff! Keep the brag sessions coming! Long after blogging is done and over with (will that happen?! *gasp*), your kids will remember that their mom bragged about them to total strangers. :)
And thanks for the encouragment about Mother's Day. Mine DID stink this year. *gag*
I remember the years of rather forget about mothers day.
This year with all that is going on I told Keith not to worry with it..he has a lot on his plate too.
But he got up an went out to get breakfast stuff and brought me some flowers. It was sweet.
I loved your post. How sweet are your little ones. What a fantastic brunch.
I am glad hubby did not scratch mothers day. ;)
And you look really great by the way---I am sure your man thought so too.
What a sweet Mother's Day! Your kids are so cute. :)
Mine was mediocre and that's not the fault of my family. My Grandma was in the ICU not expected to make it. She did pull through, but it sure wasn't a great weekend. Mark actually got the shaft, too, because his birthday was Saturday. Oh well...
Oh, fun!! I'm SO impressed w/ what your kids pulled off - kudos to them. I'd have eaten that breakfast anyday - yummy.
Very sweet to have a word of encouragement for moms who didn't have a nice day. I was thinking of one mother I know who is in a terrible position, and some cases are truly heartbreaking.
Blessings to you!

When I scrolled through this post, I was thinking - oh my she looks awesome for first thing in the morning. She even has ear rings on!! Glad to know it was after church. Sounds like they did a great job.
I am glad you added the part for the moms that had a not so happy mother's day. It was very nice and encouraging for those who may have felt under appreciated.
You were so spoilt! You looked like a princess sitting in your bed..... I'm sure you felt like one too!
