It's On For Thursday!

I am spectacled, but soon I will be free! I was approved for surgery, so I will be having my eyes done on Thursday. My hubby and I are going in on the morning ferry and will spend the night as I have a follow up appt the next morning. Wahoo, date night! It only takes surgery to get a day away with my honey. Expensive date, that's for sure! Me thinks that we will be spending the evening in the hotel room as it says on my pamphlet that I will probably have blurred vision and may experience the sensation of a splinter in my eye. I think that I also have to wear these big, dark sun glasses they give you. I am a little too vain to go out into public like that. We can order in and watch a movie or something maybe. I can ask my husband every 5 minutes what is happening- I do that even when I can see. He can't stand it! Heh heh.

Well hubby might be watching a movie, but you will only be listening to it. Your eyes will be really tired! You might be tired too. The day of surgery I came home and slept for about three hours.
Anyway, I'm really excited for you!
Have I told you about the burning flesh smell when they get going on your eyes? MmmmmHmmmm. Remember the laser is burning into your eye. You will smell something like burning hair and that is the one thing they don't prepare you for. It's horrible awful and disgusting! But- the end result is soooo worth it!!!

RYC-What is Hogshead Cheese? That doesn't sound very delicious to me!-------ops! I missed that one. No that was another...I don't think so. But some people love it. The name pretty much tells the ingredients. Guess a long time ago someone did not believe in wasting anything. Poor things. Probably literally.
And so no- I tasted some pretty strange things in the restaurant business but I draw the line here. Well and a few other southern things too Like Chittlens-I don't even know how to spell it but it is grosssssss.

At least you have a plan -- and the results will be worth it, I'm sure --

Isn't it funny what we will go through to get a little time alone. I thought sheduling my yearly exam was extreme but surgery? I hope you can enjoy your date a little. What are you most excited about when you don't have to wear glasses? Mine would be not having my specs go crooked when I lay down on the couch to watch a movie.

Saw your comment on 'Journey'. We are also registered at the same school. Were you at the conference in April?

Sounds like a "sweet" date. Not too romantic maybe, but a date none the less. Good luck on your surgery. My mom had this done and had GREAT results. I'm too chicken so it's contacts for me! ~Karlie
