I already showed you this Thankful Tree that we made pre- Thanksgiving. During our turkey dinner, all of us (there were about 26 people there), wrote down something we were thankful for. Here is the result:

Kinda cute, isn't it? I left it up to remind us of our blessings. Many were thankful for family. Some of my favorites were "I am thankful for my lizard", which could only have been my 9 year old nephew, "I am thankful for Jesus" done by my 5 year old niece and nephew, and one that my step grampa wrote: "Togetherness is Happiness". This from a man who never had children and entered our family when I was about 11. He has gone from being really uncomfortable around a crowd, especially a lot of kids, to a remark like that. His wife, my gramma, passed away 8 years ago, so we are all he has left. I was pleased to see his remark.
Tomorrow I am off to the Big City for an eye consultation. Hopefully I will get approval to have corrective eye surgery next week. I will let you know how it goes. I am attempting to find something half sophisticated looking to wear, instead of my usual hoodie, jeans, and clogs. It is supposed to rain and there is a wind warning. I am getting a ride in there, then hopping on the sea bus, and walking to my appt, so I should look SCARY once I get there!

Have a great day tomorrow! Don't be nervous, they are very nice there!
If you need someone to go to the surgery with you I'll go. I desperately want to watch it being done. DESPERATELY!
I love it! I did something similar one time and put it on my sliding glass door... that way I didn't have to clean the glass for weeks. And right after that I hang my Christmas cards on it. I don't use Windex for months on end! :)
I love this idea. "thankful tree"
I had corrective surgery two years ago. Best money spent!!!! I had worn glasses or contacts since the age of 12 years old.
I love this idea. We made a "Friends and Family" tree after we first moved here to remind us of all the people (new and old) who loved us when we were feeling a little lonely. I feel a WFMW coming on!
Love the tree.
And yes, I would have seen it earlier but blogger is still not updating my posts. And on top of that it is not sending comments to my email.
Whatever will I do?
You are a clog girl--I am too.
Love 'em!
I hope your visit goes well. I have been seriously considering this procedure.
I didn't see an email address and you asked about our homeschool experience and why we aren't anymore...can you email me, so I won't leave a really long comment?
I'd love to share our story!
Blessings,
Holly
Love your "Thankful Tree" Just might do this with my kids! Thanks!
That is so sweet about your grandpa. It made me kinda teary. I really want to get corrective surgury! I can't until my eye sight stablizes, which it hasn't done since I was twelve years old. Hopefully I will get to in a couple of years though. I taught pre-school for a while too. I loved it! I am really excited to graduate and be a "real" teacher:). Hope you have a great day!
Hi again! Yes, I DO homeschool now, but only my 5th grader. My 4 year old isn't school age yet and my 12 year old is in 7th grade in school where my husband teaches.
We ARE trying to adopt, but are also open to foster. We are waiting to see how the Lord leads.
Have a great day!
