Indoor and Outdoor School Room

I have done enough ranting about how hectic homeschooling can be at times. We all know that. We also know the heart singingly sweet times where we think "THIS is what I love about home learning!" Today was an absolutely gorgeous, hot day and half way through our morning, we tucked away our books and headed for the beach. The water was shimmering and I could feel myself relaxing as I breathed that briny air.

Rescuing a caterpillar friend who was meandering across the road.

Speeding up to a trot as the water came into view.

Aaaaahhhh! To be able to do that!

I had to show you Little M's cute little Holey Soles, aka Crocs. Awesome beach shoes.

I thought this might be the photo for the Christmas card moment- nope. But there is the crew.

Pondering on some deep thoughts...

Walking on water...

Just because it takes my breath away every time...

The indoor school room. Aka the dining room we never use. This room is not totally functioning as a school room- I need more shelving, etc, but it is bright, cheery, and is near the family room and kitchen. Having little ones around, I find it best to be near where the action is. I can see the littles outside still, and when it is not too hot or too wet, we can open up the French doors out onto the deck and do activities out there too. (In case you were wondering, no, we do not have trim on our walls yet- you can see where I was testing paint samples on the framing there).

I would like to see your school rooms- indoor and out. You don't have to officially homeschool to share. Learning takes place all the time and everywhere, doesn't it?

What a gorgeous outside school room. Looks alot like where nsremom stayed.

The questions you asked: The big kids did their own rooms we had to pitch in with the littler ones. But again, if I would have assigned it to someone and did something else they would have freaked out. We just all went in their together and it was done in a few minutes.

I love both your school rooms. I know LOTS of learning goes on in both areas.

I love the color of your inside classroom. I want to come to your school. It looks like so much fun.

Yes you can steal, borrow anything about the "spinner of doom" you would like. I can send ya a picture of the "doom" if you would like.

I completely missed where your blog had changed - and freaked out when I went to HH to grab your link for my sidebar and saw it gone! I knew I hadn't seen a post from you in a while! I had to come and catch up here!
Goodness.
Beautiful children.
Great school stories - especially the outdoor ones.
The whole world is our classroom. All my pictures are "school" pictures!
BTW - I love the colors in your house.
