Karen did this meme, and it intrigued me. I've been thinking lots about the things that I want my kids to know before "they grow up" and thought this is a good thing to meme on...
So the meme challenge is...
Those tagged will share 5 Things You Want Your Kids To Know "Before They Grow Up"
Those tagged will tag 5 people.
Those tagged will leave a link to their meme in the comments section of Claire's post so everyone can keep track of what's being posted.
So let the sharing of wisdom and tagging begin!
PS you DONT have to have kids to do this... "
1) You are accepted and loved by your Heavenly Father as you are. You do not have to earn or buy His acceptance, grace, and love. You can never do anything that will seperate you from His love. Nothing can be too big for God to forgive- He is a God of 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc chances. If you mess up in life, He will be running down the road to meet you when you turn back to Him.
2) check everything against the Word. The most tempting things aren't always outrageous- they often contain partial truths. Know the Word to determine counterfeit promises.
3) To be great, serve others ( the world is bigger than themselves- when they are feeling depressed, look for a need in another and help meet it.)
4) Own your own emotional junk. You are responsible for your reactions. Be accountable and make amends. Even when you try to make peace, it may not be received graciously- you are not responsible for the other party's actions- just do what you know you need to do and don't worry about it.
5) If it is hard, do it anyways. If it is boring, do it anyways. Even if it hurts, do it anyways. It will build your character.
So there you go, that is my list off the top of my head. There are many other things, but these were the big ones that stuck out in my head. I figure if they have a strong foundation in the Lord, that pretty much covers everything else.

This is truly great advice. I liked all of it.
Great list! I love # 2. I am always telling my kids not to believe what we believe just because I tell them or our pastor tells them. Find out what God says in His Word.
I like number four.
Mom always said, You are responsible for your reactions no matter what anyone does.
Even though both my children have made decisions for the Lord--one day they will have to Know what they know.
Good thoughts.
