In Memory Of A Beloved Gramma

One of my grandmothers passed away 8 years ago today, and a piece of my heart is still with her. I loved to walk to her house as a child and sit and talk with her over tea and cookies. She was strong, smart, quirky, elegant, and generous, all wrapped into one. I miss her the most in my gardens, when I wish I was still with her, picking peas and sampling her kale, and when I am cooking, as she made the most delicious dinners with local products from her garden or the sea.

I loved to spend time with her after I was grown as well, and wish that she could see me happily married now with my second husband and meet all of the grandchildren that have arrived since her death.

It is with a thankful heart that I say that I WILL see her again and will once again enjoy her company in the presence of the Lord.

Has it been eight years? My gosh I still remember the day she died. Bill didn't want to go over to Blair and Rita's because he felt weird about not being related, but I thought it would be a nice guesture to show that we think of all you guys as family. Anyway, GG was a very interesting lady, I'm sure you all miss her very much.
