The Bears are Back in Town!

I don't know what kind of wildlife you have in your area, but besides my family, we have deer, black bear, cougars, coyotes, elk, raccoons, etc. We get visited spring and fall by black bears. They love to eat our compost. Time to stop putting it out for a while. Bears and humans don't mix.

It can be difficult to grow a garden here as the bears eat the compost, and the deer eat the veggies. Tall fences and a dog are required in order to have some success.

Our 3rd still talks about how last year his dad chased bears out of the yard by running around in his underwear in the middle of the night, throwing rocks at them. He was SO in awe of his big, tough daddy! My honey was quite the warrior out there.
